Indian airports will discontinue the stamping of boarding passes during immigration clearance for international travellers from 1 September.

The change will apply to both electronic boarding passes shown on smartphones and printed boarding passes, giving travellers two accepted formats for immigration clearance.

Accepted boarding pass formats

International travellers can present:

  • An electronic boarding pass on a smartphone
  • A printed boarding pass

The change concerns the stamping of boarding passes during immigration clearance at Indian airports. The Bureau of Immigration is associated with the measure.
