Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav has addressed his financial difficulties amid a loan dispute, saying he will repay people whose money remains outstanding. In an interview with news agency ANI, Yadav described himself as a responsible person and said he would either repay creditors or take the money to their homes.

Yadav claimed that he had suffered a personal financial loss of between 200 and 250 crore rupees over the past 13 years. His comments came after the Central Bank of India issued an auction notice concerning his ancestral home in Shahjahanpur over an unpaid loan.

The article reports that the bank is pursuing recovery of a loan taken from its Mumbai branch in the names of Yadav, his wife Radha Yadav and his mother Godavari. The reported outstanding amount is 16.61 crore rupees. A separate reference says the bank is auctioning property valued at 3.10 crore rupees.

Yadav said his biggest financial setbacks occurred between 2013 and 2016. He claimed that at least 50 overseas tours were missed during that period and that his fees fell sharply. As an example, he said that he received 10 rupees where he should have received 100 rupees.

Despite those difficulties, Yadav said he values artistic perfection more than money. He also said that financial problems do not define his entire career, adding that 500 people still take selfies with him at airports. He said he would return money borrowed from anyone, even if the number of lenders reached 200, and said that no one could buy him for 5 crore or 250 crore rupees.

The loan dispute is connected to a bounced-cheque case that began in 2010, when Yadav borrowed 5 crore rupees from Murli Projects Private Limited to produce the film ‘Ata Pata Laapata’. The film was released in 2012 and was unsuccessful. The cheque-bounce matter has been in court since 2013.

The report says Yadav has previously served time in jail in connection with the case. In July, the Delhi High Court ordered him to surrender after questioning his intention to repay the debt. It also states that he surrendered at Tihar jail in February 2026 and remained there for 12 days.

Yadav is currently preparing for films with Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan. He became widely known for comedy roles in films including ‘Hungama’, ‘Garam Masala’, ‘Chup Chup Ke’, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’.
