Protectt.ai Labs Private Limited has become the majority shareholder of AIShield, an artificial intelligence security platform incubated within Bosch Global Software Technologies. The companies said the transaction will place AIShield under Protectt.ai while allowing it to continue operating independently.
The investment was completed through a primary share issuance and a secondary purchase from existing investors. Financial terms were not disclosed. AIShield will operate as AI Shield Private Limited, or AISW, under Protectt.ai.
Investment targets AI security expansion
The new capital is intended to fund AIShield's research and development, global expansion and work on sovereign AI security capabilities. The companies are combining Protectt.ai's mobile application security expertise and regulated-sector presence with AIShield's engineering capabilities and innovation ecosystem.
The partnership is focused on enterprises that are incorporating AI into important business processes. Banking and other regulated organisations are placing greater emphasis on security, governance and control as their AI environments expand.
Protectt.ai said the combined offering will bring together AIShield's security capabilities with its mobile application security platform and customer relationships. The partnership is also expected to extend AIShield's reach across Asian markets.
Manish Mimani, founder and chief executive officer of Protectt.ai, said AI adoption was moving from pilots into production across banking and regulated enterprises. He said AIShield contributed a platform, engineering team and patent portfolio to the partnership.
Mimani also described the wider ambition as a full-stack AI security platform covering AI for Security, Security for AI and Sovereign AI Security. The stated aim is to help enterprises adopt AI with greater resilience and control.
What AIShield brings
AIShield was incubated to address security requirements linked to enterprise use of AI and machine learning. Its platform covers the AI security lifecycle from development through production.
Its capabilities include AI security assessment, red teaming, runtime protection and safety guardrails. The platform also addresses AI-specific cyber risks such as prompt injection and vulnerabilities in AI applications.
AIShield has more than 40 patent filings, including 11 granted patent families. It serves customers across Europe and West Asia.
Protectt.ai specialises in mobile application security, AI security and AI-native offensive security. Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, it serves banks, non-banking financial companies, insurers, fintechs and government platforms in India.
The company has a presence across India, the UAE and the US. Its relationships across banking, financial services and insurance are expected to provide complementary reach for the combined security business.
Vishal Gupta, a partner at Bessemer Venture Partners, said the transaction reflected the growing maturity of India's technology ecosystem. He said the deal showed that Indian startups could build enough scale, credibility and market leadership to become partners for global technology assets.
