Forex inflows under the Reserve Bank’s special USD-INR Forex Swap facility reached USD 72,848 million by August 21, 2026, according to data reported by Authorised Dealer Banks.
The facility covers inflows through FCNR(B) deposits, External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs) and Overseas Foreign Currency Borrowings (OFCBs).
Inflows by category
FCNR(B) deposits accounted for the largest share at USD 65,397 million. Inflows through OFCBs stood at USD 4,860 million, while ECB inflows were USD 2,591 million.

Facility timelines
The Reserve Bank introduced the special facility on June 08, 2026. Under the scheme, FCNR(B) deposits are eligible until August 31, 2026.
