Russia votes in 2026 parliamentary election as Putin’s party faces no major anti-war rival
Russia’s 3-day parliamentary election began on 18 September, with United Russia expected to retain its dominance. Voting is also taking place in Russian-controlled parts of Ukraine, a move Ukraine and the European Union have called illegal. The anti-war Yabloko party has been excluded from the contest.
