China tests star-based navigation ahead of planned Jupiter mission in 2030
A Tianhui-7 satellite has demonstrated a navigation technique that measures tiny changes in how stars appear from a moving spacecraft. The test could support China’s planned Tianwen-4 mission to Jupiter, where long communication delays would prevent Earth-based controllers from making real-time corrections.
