Shiv Sena spokesperson backs ABVP call for Captain Smit Machchhar's Ashok Chakra consideration.

Shiv Sena spokesperson Shaina NC has backed the ABVP's demand for Captain Smit Machchhar to be considered for the Ashok Chakra, describing the honour as appropriate for what she called his rare act of bravery.

Speaking in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Shaina NC urged the government to recommend Machchhar's name for the award. She said the recognition would carry significance beyond the individual involved.

What Shaina NC said

Shaina NC said the proposed honour could underline that a common citizen and a pilot can save the lives of 174 individuals. She presented that reported outcome as the reason Machchhar should be considered for the country's highest gallantry award.

Her comments followed the ABVP's demand that Machchhar's name be considered for the Ashok Chakra. She said she agreed with the organisation's position.

The Ashok Chakra was described by Shaina NC as the highest bravery award. Her remarks amounted to an appeal for the government to suggest Machchhar's name for consideration.

The demand before the government

The available report records support for the demand, but does not state that the government has accepted it or that the award has been formally announced for Machchhar.

The reported focus remains on whether his name should be put forward for consideration. Shaina NC said the proposed recognition would also allow the nation to highlight the significance of the reported act.

Conclusion

Shaina NC has joined the ABVP in urging the government to consider Captain Smit Machchhar for the Ashok Chakra, citing the reported saving of 174 lives.
