Kareena Kapoor has dismissed rumours that she is pregnant with her third child, responding first with a humorous social media post and later with a sharp but light-hearted comment to paparazzi.
The speculation followed a video in which Kareena appeared to have a baby bump. The discussion intensified after she was seen outside a gym on August 21. Her security guard appeared to try to shield her midsection with an umbrella, prompting claims that she was expecting again.
The actor’s sister-in-law, Saba, had already rejected the speculation. Kareena has now addressed it herself, making clear that the discussion was not based on a pregnancy announcement.
Kareena uses humour to answer the speculation
Kareena shared a picture on her Instagram Story showing her stomach appearing swollen. The image also featured pizza and laughing emojis. Alongside it, she wrote, “Hatt na be,” a playful Hindi expression used to brush someone off.
The post was her first public reaction to the latest pregnancy rumours. Rather than issue a formal statement, Kareena treated the claims as a joke and linked the appearance of her stomach to food.
She later encountered paparazzi who began apologising to her. Kareena smiled at them and said, “You people drive me crazy.” She then said goodbye, got into her car and left.
Saba Kapoor rejects the claims
Before Kareena’s response, Saba had addressed the reports and argued that the speculation came from a misleading angle. She said people had reached a different conclusion too quickly after seeing the actor in the video.
Saba added that Kareena had looked stylish, elegant and slim at the airport, and that the gym appearance was simply an appearance after leaving the gym. She wrote that she was trying to persuade her sister-in-law to have another child and wished the rumour were true, while joking that Kareena would be furious with her for saying so.
Her message also urged people to live their own lives and allow others to do the same. Saba said that some matters should remain private and that there was no need for speculation.
Earlier rumours also followed holiday photos
This is not the first time Kareena has faced similar claims. Pregnancy rumours had also circulated when she was holidaying in New York. Users interpreted a photograph she shared on Instagram as a possible sign that she was expecting.
Kareena responded at the time by attributing her appearance to pizza and wine. Her latest social media joke follows the same approach, using food and humour to answer assumptions about her body.
Kareena and Saif Ali Khan are parents to two sons, Jeh and Taimur. The couple married in 2012.
Kareena had also spoken about pregnancy speculation in 2022. In an interview with Hindustan Times, she questioned whether she was a machine and said that the choice of having a child or not should be left to her.
Her latest comments again place the focus on personal choice and the limits of public speculation. The actor has not announced a pregnancy; her responses instead reject the current claims through humour and direct remarks.
