Maruti Suzuki's facelifted Baleno has recorded first-month sales of more than 25,000 units, according to a CarWale report. The premium hatchback is listed on Nexa's website with a starting price of ₹5.99 lakh ex-showroom, while the top variant costs ₹9.99 lakh ex-showroom.

The 2026 Baleno receives a revised exterior and additional equipment. Its front end now features a larger grille with black horizontal slats, along with redesigned bumper details and new fog-lamp housings. The 16-inch alloy wheels and shark-fin antenna also get updated designs.

Engine, gearbox and claimed mileage

The facelifted model uses a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It produces 82bhp and 114Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki claims mileage of up to 24.77kmpl for the AMT version.

The Baleno is available with manual and AMT gearbox options. The car also offers a CNG variant with an AMT option.

New features in the facelifted Baleno

The car retains its existing dimensions, including a length of 3,990mm and a wheelbase of 2,520mm. Inside, the cabin layout remains largely unchanged and includes a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

Newly added equipment includes ventilated front seats, a tyre-pressure monitoring system and Level 2 ADAS-based safety features. Existing equipment includes a height-adjustable driver's seat, wireless charger, head-up display, automatic climate control and a 360-degree camera.

Maruti Fronx facelift may follow

Maruti Suzuki is also expected to update more models after the Baleno. The Fronx facelift may enter the market in November this year, with possible changes to its grille, bumpers and LED lighting.

The upcoming model may also receive a larger touchscreen, an updated digital instrument cluster, a sunroof, ventilated front seats and Level 2 ADAS. These details are presented as possible additions rather than confirmed equipment.
