Supreme Court questions UP police probe, weighs CBI takeover and warns of dissolution
The Supreme Court has sharply criticised the Uttar Pradesh Police over an investigation in which a person allegedly caught at the scene was initially named as unknown in the FIR. The bench questioned the police account, rejected its affidavit as unsatisfactory and ordered an officer to appear at the next hearing.
