Education Ministry budget rises 8.27% as school education gets ₹83,562 crore
The Education Ministry’s allocation for FY 2026-27 has increased 8.27% over BE 2025–26. The Department of School Education & Literacy will receive ₹83,562 crore, its highest-ever allocation, while higher education has been allocated ₹55,727.22 crore, according to figures released by the Ministry of Education.
