Kanda Express to move onions from Lasalgaon as prices rise across India
The government has arranged special onion trains from Lasalgaon, Nashik, to major cities, with supplies intended for sale at 35 rupees per kilogram through NCCF, NAFED and Kendriya Bhandar outlets. The move follows a sharp rise in retail and wholesale onion prices, although the first train’s departure was delayed.
